This plant has been installed in the Dominican Republic precisely because the coconut from the Dominican Republic contains unique properties of thickness and resistance of the coconut shell, which allows us to achieve the best activated carbon in the world.

Quality At The Source

We are the only activated carbon plant in the world that manufactures its own carbon. We control quality at every step.

  1. We buy local coconut shells, avoiding imported raw materials.
  2. The material is carefully inspected to remove waste.
  3. The material is sun-dried to reduce moisture below 10%.
  4. Raw shells are crushed, screened, and prepared for carbonization.
  5. Carbonization occurs between 400-600 C, maintaining volatile matter at 15%.
  6. Carbon is washed and processed for activation.

Our Activated Carbon Process

Learn about the process and machinery behind activated carbon manufacturing, ensuring quality and performance.

Pre-activation Process

The charcoal fed into the activation process should be free from foreign particles and fines. Fibre dust, sand, stones, and semi-carbonized charcoal are removed first, followed by granulation into uniform particle size.

Rotary Kiln Steam Activation

The heart of the process. Granulated charcoal is fed into the Kiln at a controlled rate. Steam accelerates activation at 850-950 degrees. CTC adsorption of 40-120% can be tuned during the process.
